I am a business attorney and litigator. I was in business for 13 years before going to law school. I have been practicing law for over 25 years. I know that the client wants results that are cost-effective. I strive to make each move count and understand that the bottom line is to solve the problem, whatever it might be. In business litigation, I have litigated in both state and federal courts, both jury and judge trials, and my cases have covered many areas of law concerning a wide variety of subjects: unfair competition, non-compete contracts, trade secrets, warranty issues, real estate, evictions, dietary supplements, all business employment issues, contracts, collections, partnership and corporation matters, product liability, patent and trademark (with patent co-counsel), mechanic's liens, Internet issues, various business torts, and numerous other subjects. My clients include individuals and businesses in the areas of communications, manufacturing, construction, contractors, retail stores, shopping centers, freight and freight forwarding, plumbing, electrical, advertising, lasers, dietary supplements, investments, and high tech, just to name a few. I have represented Asian government agencies in collection matters. I have handled numerous matters for businesses which deal with many different government agencies. I represent both plaintiffs and defendants.
In the general business area, I review and draft various types of contracts, leases, confidentiality agreements, non-competes, employment contracts and handbooks, proposals, sales representative and distributor agreements, and form business entities. I have negotiated many agreements and settlements.
Before becoming an attorney, I was an Executive Vice President for a 60 million dollar company. I understand how a businessperson thinks and the problems he/she faces. When legal issues are involved with business issues, I understand and use both to guide a client to the best decision and outcome. I strongly believe that matters should be resolved without litigation if at all possible and, therefore, the vast majority of the matters I handle never go to trial.
